The track labelled complete track is a whole CUE rather than a theme statement: two and a half to five minutes across five to twelve composed sections, each with its own instruments, dynamic level and harmony. It exists because Josh listened to the thirty-second cohort below and said it was all the same track, and the measurement agreed with him on every axis a listener hears first. Three things about it are measured: the form is real, no single layer repeats itself for more than eight bars — measured one part at a time, because an ensemble measurement cannot see a pad tiling under a moving flute — and the loop point does not close with a full cadence, read off the notes rather than copied off the brief. What is not measured is whether it is any good. Nobody has heard it yet. The themes marked AUTHORED are composed in notes by the factory to a written brief, and each one is checked against that brief rather than against a description of it — every constraint the composition claims is a control over the notes. Where a track is labelled orchestral rung one, that score is played by real recorded instruments — a public-domain sampled orchestra, one part per line, with the loop point written into the arrangement rather than faded. It is a real realisation and it is not a professional scoring session. Where a track is labelled sketch realisation, the tune is finished and the orchestration is not: what you hear there is additive synthesis, not an orchestra. The themes marked GENERATED came out of the factory's own composition loop and were picked by measurement rather than by ear. These are ITERATIONS, not finished themes. Where a percentage is printed beside a track, it is that automated checklist — 8 of the doctrine's 13 melodic diagnostics. No diagnostic that needs a person to listen and sing it back has been run on any of this, on either lane. Anything below labelled ambience is a place, not a theme.
These are the thirty-second theme statements the complete tracks above supersede. They are kept rather than removed: this cohort is the control arm the sameness measurement was taken on, and the comparison is what makes the track above legible as an answer to it.

As a child the protagonist walks down into the oldest valley in the world, and the descent is also a descent through time: strata that hold the first tools human hands ever shaped, lakebeds that swelled to inland seas and shrank again, a floor of the earth that has been keeping records since long before anyone could read them. They follow the long chain of Rift lakes as they go — Turkana and Tanganyika and Victoria, the soda-pink shallows of Bogoria and the freshwater sweep of Naivasha — water that still holds the memory of an age when the rains came and the basins rose. After a run of chapters spent hiding among people, the valley offers something the protagonist did not know they needed — a place with no one to hide from. The people who live in this valley now are the Hadza, foragers of the Lake-Eyasi shore who still keep the old way of the bow, the baobab, and the honeyguide they call to and answer — not a relic of anyone's past but a living people going about a living present, whom the protagonist meets as who they are and learns the Rift's own ground from first, before the valley opens any older door.
And the descent through deep time opens the valley's oldest layer of all — the continent's deep symbolic cradle, where the far-southern San tradition still echoes older than every empire the protagonist has crossed put together. Reached through the valley's time-fluctuation current (the same current that carried them down among the first tools), it is a continuity, not the present-day Rift, and they are careful to learn it as its own peoples name it: a Ju|'hoansi shaman who reads the world through a trance the protagonist has no name for, a woman elder who knows an arrow-poison pharmacopoeia older than any book, a tracker who reads the deep-valley ground, and on the rock walls of the /Xam the oldest marks of all — zigzags and grids and nested curves that are not writing and are somehow deeper than writing, the shapes a mind sees from the inside when it goes far enough into itself. The shaman senses something unusual in the protagonist, an unusual concentration of the vital-force his people call n/um, and asks nothing about it; in this valley, to be unusual is not to be hunted. Before the healer will let them stand at the dimming panel, the protagonist climbs alone into the cold Afromontane heights of the Bale Mountains, where the thin air opens a threshold and a trance-pull tests whether they can hold their own inner heat steady and read the true way through — and they cross it and come back down, steadier than they went up.
